Final piece

Depressing night. Acrylic on canvas. The painting shows a beautiful aqua sky at night with the moon shining. You can see the silhoutte of a tree and a girl who seems depressed. The main elememt if designbis color because the painting can be described as minochromatic. There is also line forming the branches of the tree and value. The main principles of design are proportion and unity to create harmony within the piece. There is also emphasis on the moon because it is the brightess color in the painting.

The painting was made to create beauty and fantasy. The aesthetic philosophy can relate to plato's real and ideal or kant's definitio of beauty. I decided to do this as my final piece because i lived the style and i enjoyed it.

Polluted place

Acrylic on canvas. The painting looks like a toddler-like drawing which makes the painting easy to understand for everyone. The main element of design used in the artwork is shape because there are alot of geometric shapes whithin the painting. Also, there ia color and space to imply dkstance between and around objects. The main princille of design used is proportion among objects to create unity in the artwork.

The artwork was made to reveal the truth and raise social awarness on pollution. The aesthetic philosophy can relate to Nietzsche's because art confronts the wrong and horrible in society.
Pollution is really affecting our environment by causing globlal warming, toxic lakes, etc. And we are not doing anything about it... this artwork is simple and easy to understand because my goal is for everyone, children and adults, to be able to understand the issue and be conscious about it. Adults need to start doing something about pollution and kids should be educated about the issue so they can be aware of it throughtout their lives.

Still Life

Acrylic on canvas. I believe the painting places emphasis on the vase with decorations on it because its bright colors capture the viewer's attention. The painting implies mass, space, and the table forms a geometric shape. There is also some value on the vases and in the shadows casted by the vases.

Olive Trees

Acrylic on wooden board. My painting of Van Gogh's olive trees. The painting is rich in lines and movement. It contains warm colors. The brushstrokes create a pattern and give the piece texture.

Peaceful Sunset

Acrylic on canvas. Realistic painting of a landscape. The painting has perspective and a focal point located on the far away mountain where the sun is shining. The painting creates a sense of peace, harmony, and unity.

A hint of pink

Acrylic on wood. Monochromatic painting using black, white, and a hint of pink. The placement of the flowers give the painting symmetry and balance. There is a competing focal point in the center of each flower.

White Shell on Red Earth

Acrylic on wooden board. Painting of Georgia O'keeffe's white shell. Quite a blending job. The piece emphasizes the white shell, line moves the viewer's eye through the shell ending in the middle which is the focal point.
